We cuddle in the warmth of the open hearth, as dark falls like a curtain, suddenly, with a sky of low and brilliant stars. Shadows of trees silhouette against the half-light. A year ago, we were in deep pain for the loss of a loved one. But life does go on, time the great healer of eclipsed spirits. Painful memories do work themselves loose, a moment comes when the door opens and lets the future in. We have learned to harmonize ourselves to the regular rhythms of life – slowly awaken from a darkness long untouched by sleep. It is time to emerge from the shadows, knowing that happy moments can not be duplicated, we just have to shut a door properly on the past. |

'Painful memories do work themselves loose, a moment comes when the door opens and lets the future in." I adored that line. "too bad ignorance isn't painful" |
