It wouldn’t be correct; my rules today are set yet I can add a “but” if I’m in the mood or score a deep incision anywhere I like in the illustrated pages of my book of life. But, really, how absurd in the middle of this world to mood a Prince Charming into Cinderella’s dream or a lovely Jane into Tarzan’s crucial swing planned to coincide with nothing in particular. In any case, I think, the bubble-wrap is flat that once protected my life’s mystery element and to cut the detail out not worth a slash or two with my many knives or one of complete denial. I’m in the mood to read the text of one in need and marvel at the pictures of my imaginings but – I can do it, you see – put a “but” in the mood to change the course of thought and of history. I do not need a knife to cut the times I cried or slice the pages double-time in pretence of knowing why because the child in me has selective memory and a short attention span designed to build bridges. But peace, there is no peace, in ordinary words and mood a simple alignment with creativity that overstates a need, downplays the obvious, and spins the truth according to – what else but “the mood”. I’m on a roll today down to the mill of brain that grinds the perfect whole into a tiny grain so I can swallow love’s denial with alacrity and still remain in the mood set by my rules. Rules? Rules change according to – what else but “the mood” … and “There’s a hole in the bucket, dear Liza, dear Liza …”! Helen / 5 January 2006 |

there's a hole in da bucket . . . Dear Lizaaaahhhhhhhh, a hollllee (I forgot about that) ahh yes, "the mood" that awful thing, evil thing. I adore these lines, wish they were mine: the child in me has selective memory and a short attention span designed to build bridges. |

Thanks for the read, Littlewing, and for commenting. We just can't get away from "the mood" no matter how we try. |

"But peace, there is no peace, in ordinary words and mood a simple alignment with creativity that overstates a need, downplays the obvious, and spins the truth according to – what else but “the mood”." You are so right on, Helen! I do enjoy your humor, too. ....jo |

Skyfire - Thanks for the read. Glad you enjoyed. M - Well, we're sort of always in some kind of a mood or other. The mood is like a bucket with a hole in it - we keep dumping stuff in it - the stuff always runs out and so the cycle repeats. Martie - Glad I made you chuckle. If we can't understand life and all it entails, we might as well laugh at it. Jo - Now, if we can all be in the same mood at the same time I guess there would be peace on earth. Look after "you". |
