It hurts me The noise and bright lights glaring, No corner To cower, And I know someone's staring. The starkness No darkness. Ever bright and padded walls, Walls and floor, Nothing more, Except screams from down the hall. It holds me This vice of reality. Gloom |

nodding here... I was just telling someone that today, even the sounds of car doors slamming make me jump. I just wince and wonder what the hell is all that coming and going about? I haven't yet wished a happy new year either, so happy new year, prof. It is good to read you, m'friend. And know that I sympathize. Some days are just too noisy for me. |

Thank you, Serenity, Peace and quiet is always what calms me, Though I seldom actually seek it out, But by being calm it does tend to come to me Eventually. Hope of a happy new year to you Gloom |

Thank you, Jinx26, Padded cells do have corners, but not worth a darn for hiding in. Sometimes we need a hole with a nice tight lid, But I’m told that’s no real solution. Gloom |
