soft night sounds
like a thicket of fine fur
happy ever after…

watches or’r the earth
extending muscular arms
caressing her bare shoulders
soft moans looking around the
room for the last time…drinking
in the sight, loving apple pie
twinkling ruby eyes, wrapped in cotton

sugar starches
against a partially open mouth
and there
life’s blood
in scandalous romance
finds total
all consuming adoration
so masterfully inflicted
guilty is the bargain
love scented oils
hold out their hands
fueling fire of strength
independence baking cookies
music spilling out
like biology assignments

a gigantic natural lake
filling lungs with fireflies
revealing statements of power
achieving an, “i’ll always be here” promise

every last emotion
advances into tomorrows
seasons succeed
being savored well
after the last page is turned
and she
hears his heart
hammering against hers

fantasizing whispers in her ear
on high heeled sandals
on some path by a lagoon
taking the long long way around

love
fate
destiny

yes,
she might have smiled
while being consumed
in niagara falls
tonight,
the fireworks spoke
over horseshoe falls
like a message in a bottle
of congnac, just for show

he was more then a friend
at first sight
flip turning the physics test

she closed
her eyes
and
he kissed her
long and hard

endless lean
glossy bodies
detect a quick sense
of feelings

searching the stars
anxious to drink
this pounding
hangover for hours

a good night’s sleep
hesitates
for ember sighs & lavender flowers
stiff breezes, hot lights
overtones
of her woman hood
saying hello
to something you can’t
fathom living without

she drank through her years

Foot Note:  Just for the record, I don't drink for a living...I'm writing metaphorically...

about a woman who loves life, drinking it in...as much as she can...no matter how good or bad, love
is life, and life is love....and our purpose
and responsibility, to leave things a little better then when we found em....

I have missed your poetry, and your presence very much Lee.

and smiling, many times I have told you that I love your work, even though at times I didn't understand it.

I understand this one completely, I think.

I'm just glad to see you again m'friend.

I owe you an e, and when my blasted head stops pounding, I'll do just that.

Love you lady braveheart.

LeeJ sweetie:

Even without the footnote, it was clearly intoxication with life.  Drink deeply, you spill such beauty from the cup.
