Couldn’t imagine it was you at the stopping post, riddled with pink. and that big fat bow in your hair! people normally don’t stare unless there is a reason, but those eyes of yours don’t notice a damn thing. I wonder why, Virginia do you think that those heels look good? 5 inches and your feet are falling out, my goodness what have you done? too many hoho’s and ding dongs suddenly you’ve become a bottle of pepto bismo; and that bow are you 12 like I said I couldn’t imagine it was you so I just walked away |

Oh My, I am sorry but this did make me grin: 5 inches and your feet are falling out, my goodness what have you done? |

I have seen people this way and you're right....they don't even seem to notice the stares, for some reason. It's sad and funny at the same time. But, if I giggle, I feel guilty. Good writing. Hugs, Ethel |

eeek.. Maybe they did know and didn't care? Maybe they were just sick of pleasing the crowds and finally decided to please themselves? Not everyone desires to be socially accepted. "too bad ignorance isn't painful" |

I understand that not everyone is a size 6 and i truly wasn't making fun of large people. I am not even a 6 or a cute little girl. I wrote this in another voice and actually I do not know anyone named virgina... |

I am from South Africa and our sizes work differently so I don't know how big a size 6 is. I enjoyed your poem immensely. It is good to write what one thinks, sometimes. It helps us not to be hurtful. It seemed so real (as do all the poems of yours that I have read)even though it isn't, but that is obviously one of your many fortés. I like the term you used in your response - "wrote it in a different voice". - Owl |
