Simple Things I remember the smell of tangerine skins slowly baking on top of kerosene burners Where W.P.A. workers warmed their cold frostbitten hands I passed them every day on the way to school yes I remember simple things. [This message has been edited by latearrival (12-31-2005 07:53 PM).] |

Oh yes, We looked forward to seeing them each day. They were doing some kind of special work. I did not appreciate the WPA then as I did not understand. They were workmen to me. But over the years when I realized how many bridges were built, artist were helped and the many things they did, I knew how wonderful it was to be able to keep these men working and their families fed. martyjo |
