behind the windows of wine
we weave our gold into water
there where the pale mountains
with  freckled valleys
jut to the sun kiss mouths

and I imagine my mind
as a bowl of dust in spin
as your fingers trace the digits
dialing numbers at random
and answering in some other language

just so I can hear your mouth
when it is dry speaking
begging for the water of a kiss
and some insatiable salty crackers
that keep it wanting more

and you wonder of worthy
when it is just a word
and you are a dream with wings
that you folded on purpose
to fit the gloving of my hands

when my awestruck hit the curb

This is a wonderful poem

just so I can hear your mouth
when it is dry speaking
begging for the water of a kiss
and some insatiable salty crackers
that keep it wanting more

I love all of your poetry, and you know I love a slam-dunk ending (<--see how I'm feeding him ammo, folks?)

but this one, the construction of it did it so aptly--

"when my awestruck hit the curb"

I read this just after reading Inkedgoddess' post "as is"

and the two together played out in my mind, meshing beautifully.

You two ever, um, write together?

"and you wonder of worthy
when it is just a word
and you are a dream with wings
that you folded on purpose
to fit the gloving of my hands"

I wonder of your words. The tender
way you ink the soul and autograph a cloudless sky with sensuality. If only
to be bathed in the rain of your pen,
with the knowledge of your parting at
a broken sentence end. I would eagerly beg
to be the final syllable upon your tongue -waiting to be baptized in the flow of such dark, cleansing conversation. Your words inspire me to remove the mask.

I am sure you understand.

ms serene...you make me grin as usual...am so pleased that you enjoyed my curb appeal..
and yes I do enjoy the mystery of the inked one with her pen...seems she sees the same streets sometimes, from another side.  Thanks lady

Ms Flawless, you writhe me with pleasure
a serpent round the wrist perhaps, with your gentle bathe of suggestion.   Dare I day dream of the lady without the mask
and if I wore one would she recognize the glass of me behind, thank you for the whispers...you awaken me
