Dream Weaver

Was it but another dream?
I know I tend to weave in wishful thinking.
Yesterday’s shadows hide well
Beneath this leafless weeping tree.

I rest on its bark bench,
Cloaked in December's familiar foggy clouds,
The ones that chill you to the bone.
As I strain and squint
Through thick, musty wet mist.

Quick flashes of evening's dying light
Began to halo firs,
Tall cedars, and majestic mountains
That had been freshly cut
Into paper silhouettes.
All the while I could swear
I feel your arms about me keeping me warm,
Yet I know I am just a dream weaver.

Dear Weaver of Dreams, some believe that dreams are the true reality, and what we are living is the dream...

Whatever dreams may be, you are a master of weaving them.

Love & Eternal Light,

Sharon

You know I believe that love lives on....it is obvious that Willow likes to be with you as much as you do, with her.  How wonderful that is!!     Your Willow poems are always so beautiful!

Mysteria...she will ever cling to your heart,
and through your gifts, visit us in dream,
as well.  This is gorgeous...just the right words
to go with the right picture.

Priceless!

Stop calling yourself names on my IM.

Not only did I find this lovely, but it reminded me of a dream I would have forgotten had it not been for you--I dreamed I made love to Robert DeNiro!

(hope I wasn't noisy--the window was open too)

Your willow poetry is more than just a dream--you two have melded now.

but you knew that.

Thank you for your kind responses.  You know after a time you realize a lot of the person you are missing so terribly has actually become part of you.  It is a conscious or even unconscious choice we seem to keep them alive through your memory of them, or simply let them go. It is more fun to keep them close.

Kit bought me a poster for Christmas I have put into a frame, because she thought it looked like a combination of Willow and me. It turned out she bought my favorite piece of fairy art, and she never even knew it.  Care to see it?  Here she is - and this actually looks like Willow (only she had way longer hair.)  The piece of art is done by Edward Hughes, in 1908.  I love her!

The poster has this below it, "Dreams Are The Touchstones Of Our Character."  So really this poster inspired this piece, but I have "felt" her when I walk in the woods, and we just know she has moved in there to watch over us.

What a lovely and flowing piece, Sharon. You do Willow proud when you write of her. Just promise me one thing?  That you stay away from bears while sitting on that bench!

I really enjoyed this, and LOVE the frame you put the poster in! I'm glad she was able to inspire this beautiful dream weaver piece from you!

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit

This is beautifully written, Sharon - Right from the heart for sure.  There's no da-dumming either.  This piece is perfect without it...

lovely, words, picture and meaning...I know that feeling...I can go to certain places and feel my sister is there with me
(sometimes I even speak to her  aloud...I am sure I get strange stares)
I have several plants she gave me while she was just becoming ill and I was thinking today I need to repot one and keep it alive.

Have a Happy and Healthy New Year

Thanks Nan

Maureen, whether they are or not, I think it is up to us to make sure we "believe" they are and therefore they are forever with us right?

Chrislane - We are indeed all connected!  You and Meeka and the "man" have yourself a wonderful evening won't you?  Happy New Year.

You know... I still have one of her old emails that I've never gotten rid of and it is a bit strange how I run across it. I don't think conscious or unconscious matters so much as hearts that have kept such memories alive. And... It looks like she's still doing some weaving and still touching our dreams.

edit: went looking for that "E" and I can't find it
got to thinking I could be mistaken. I'll let you
know Sharon when and if I find it.

best wishes, dale

Icried when I read this. You have such a wonderful way with words and I could feel Willow surrounding you with love and affection.

She lives in you always.

aww this is beautiful and how freaky, Sharon!

I have that exact print:
(of course I would)

"Midsummer Eve"  by Edward Hughes.

Well I made it through the first New Year's Eve since loosing my friend now a long time ago with some laughter in it, she would have liked that.  I know she would!

Dale, I doubt you could have heard from this person, but you never know?  She was from Winnipeg, Manitoba, lived in New York and Toronto, and in England all her life.  She was a professional dancer, then teacher when she died.

She continues to inspire me that is for sure, and I am so glad you enjoy me sharing her with you all.

Happy New Year to everyone!

Brother was it a wet one here today!  Our Penguin Plunge for New Year's Day went off without a hitch, and I still think they are incredibly nuts, including my own offspring!

Happy New Year and thank you for taking the time to read another tribute to someone who did make a difference - at least to me.
