Last Accord Be quiet my misery, my sorrow too, Soon morning will burst upon our reverie And dreams will flee our collective view. Perhaps some peace she will allow, A moment of respite long overdue. From afar I see the wasted years, Draped in loneliness and dank decay, Filled with remorse and distasteful tears. As I bend ‘neath the lash of desolate ruin My soul confronts life’s closing fears. Listen my dear, hear the silence creep As it slowly enfolds my waning heart, While the Sun falls softly to it’s sleep I choke on the bitterness of tainted love And fear the eternity I soon shall reap.
