Ah when horses
Thundered into the courtyard
And drums resounded
Off autumn colored hills

Speak truth old man
Did your heart not feel
It’s tiger  blood
In that moment
Were you not unafraid

Now the years
With their wear upon our hours
Make us fearful of the stars

Yet do recall
When comes the end
How you and I when we were young
Bearded the monster in its lair
