Some say happiness is emotion on a block awaiting the fall of axe to annihilate the lot. Some say a treasure chest unopened in the sea, some believe it’s me when allowed to be free, but always it’s elusive and cannot be defined in my shortened concept of eternal time. Yesterday my happiness was the ‘you and me’ and tomorrow it could be the living of a dream but today come the rain and a cloudy day I wonder why it left and didn’t take away the sky, the sun, the moon and stars, and the beat of every heart. Some say happiness is a breath of fresh air and the silence of a single little prayer. Some say it’s the pleasure of a lover’s arms and the many facets of a woman’s charms but I say happiness is an existential quest because we don’t know it’s nestled in a breast! Thanks, Martie and Jo. I think one only thinks of happiness when one gets older because when we're young we haven't seen the other side of the coin yet. The pity is that we always do some how or other. |
