http://www.lepoeme.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=16&Itemid=48 The world keeps on turning day and night, As we keep on yearning for things out of sight. The harder we try and the harder we fight, The deeper we fall in our miserable plight. Wanting and needing things not worth having, Leaving us dying with no loved ones caring. Our consumptions consume us, compassion eludes us, And all the while we pray that God will exhume us. But the world keeps turning, the grass keeps growing, And our nine to five jobs will forever keep going. Is it too much to ask for a minute of peace? A minute where time itself can cease, Leaving us lost and leaving us free, To live our lives the way they were meant to be. But the world will keep turning and people will surely keep yearning, Until the end of their days when in their graves they’ll be turning. And I’ll be right there, in the graveyard observing and on my tombstone you’ll read, “The world stopped turning.” |

Is it too much to ask for a minute of peace? A minute where time itself can cease, I like these lines..and I like to stop time every now and then..even if only in my mind~~ M |

No it is never too long to ask for that moment of peace Or to demand It is a right Dave |

Although it may be a right, it is certainly difficult to find in our consumer driven society. Work --> buy --> work --> die. The luckiest of us are the ones who fit love somewhere in there. |

Vicious Taunting A Life Of Yearning People Wanting Never Learning Green But A Season Grass Lures Us All Without Reason Too Many Fall I liked your poem. We do live in a society of Chaos and unending chases. |
