Of December White lights against the snowfall people rush tonight to wallpaper the mall with paychecks in hand with the a wintery shiver listening to the marching band all these things are of December Frozen nights icy breath in and out boney trees covered in lights on the streets, out and about with lovers hand in hand in a winter shining of silver moon is full over the land all these things are of December Happy Holidays, honey with your cheeks red and your smile is funny Visions dance in your head of lights on a Colorado fir this is the majesty of December A time memorial etched on your heart a familial pictorial splashed in watercolor art with eyes opening at 6 a.m. to a wonderland you'll remember listening to the weather man all these things are of December Happy New Years, baby a new beginning? Well, just maybe You can hear them singing by the fire's stirring embers this is the majesty of all Decembers For home and family I feel like a star atop a Christmas tree I'll always surrender to the things that are of December "The moon ain't romantic, it's intimidating as hell". -- Tom Waits, 'Bad Liver and a Broken Heart' |
