Aging My ears have turned loud to whisper My eyes have brought a veil to light Hearing aids improve it crisper Glasses now enhance my sight Any of this I did not choose It happened but I know not how It felt somehow I’d never lose The primal power of the now Desire has changed its tender My wish is for the past once more Chances are my wish is slender My life has used its nest of store For function, is time consumption? I’m just another tumble weed Forever is not an unction While looking for my core of seed In the beginning God created the end and To begin again |

Love these lines - "It felt somehow I’d never lose The primal power of the now" but somehow I don't think you ever will lose the primal power of the now - it may just seem like it. Very much enjoyed but, as everyone says, "you're only as old as you feel". Merry Christmas! Helen |

We shall all pass this way, only some sooner than others. Loved the wording of these lines: "In the beginning God created the end and To begin again" |

And just think Sy ~ we can come back as an improved version of ourselves - that is the best part! My eyes and ears are failing too, but if you are smart try using that to your advantage hon, it's a gift I tell you, a real gift! |

Sy The core circles in again to hold my skin so dear I try to hear the sky and all all withdraw one splendor cause in faith a gate that opens past the pall and meets the end in time safe Then to what purpose give report that travels swift upon the day and turns the clock around around to find the place beginning ends and only trouble find again See? I understand. |

A subject I've given much thought to a greater part of my life, as you see, my early years were spend in my grandmother's and mother's nursing homes (back when they were family-owned businesses). I've come to the conclusion, aging is a process of giving up things...small things at a time, one by one, until we are surrendered and ready to start again. Appreciate this write, Sy. and happy holidays, jo |

Sir Tumbleweed, this is a profound and touching write. What may feel like our declining years ~ and yes, they are in physical terms, we are actually ascending to a joyous state of being on the spiritual plane. You have learned wisdom and kindness in life's School of Hard Knocks. Your next incarnation should prove to be a much easier Earthly existence. I hope that our paths will cross at that time! Sending you lots of warm, loving hugs, EA |

I wust wanted to note that the Greek have at least two major words used in the scripture for the word "end." If your studying the "end" times it becomes imperative to know the difference. Almost all of the usages render it as just "end" in the english. It's a real pity the many occasions that this occurs in scripture; but that's what happens in translation. Happy new year Seymour dale Speaking of ghosts, wouldn't you know here comes mine again... |
