A Very Merry Christmas To Fema Villagers

I had to stop and write to them,
The forgotten people of the storm.
Just as we were heading out to celebrate
The last days before our Jesus was born.

I wondered did they each have a tree,
With presents spilled upon the floor?
Did they manage to decorate with lights?
Or put a wreath upon their front door?

Did they have money for the trimmings?
A simple turkey to eat on Sunday?
Or were these people sitting by,
Waiting for it to be over, just be Monday?

If I could, I’d share all I have with them,
Wherever each of them now may be found.
I’d give them my love and understanding,
Help them get your feet back on the ground.

I’d listen to how they all are “feeling,”
Give my thanks to God thatthey’re alive.
Sympathize with them on their current housing,
Living cramped in a FEMA supplied hive.

I simply had to write to you all and tell you
Your courage is amazing, strength beyond compare.
Your hearts are filled with the American spirit,
You’ll rebuild your lives, because you truly care.

Your loyalty to your state and country,
Is something I have never seen before.
I can see you won’t stop until your city’s rebuilt,
Every building, hospital, house and door!

I have friends that were hit hard by the storm,
And it took their experience for me to finally see,
This entire world does not evolve around,
The simple likes of me, me, and me.

I was about to head out the door and had to stop after reading this online to write something to all the folks that were in the way of nature this year.

May God or whatever they have chosen to believe in
always bless these strong, and resilient souls.

(angel friendship and comfort hugs) Oh Sharon, God Bless You for thinking and writing this most compassionate, heartwarming blessing and prayer for all the victims of the past season's hurricanes, dearest friend, sadly the less fortunate have been through soooooooo much this past season, from the damage of the hurricanes to the cutting of domestic programs and food stamps recently, and I feel those who need it the most are most certainly being taken for granted and it warms my heart ever soooooooo much to see those like you thinking of them! (smiles) God Bless You, dearest Sharon, and happiest of holidays to you and best comfort to all the meek, lowly, crippled and blind out there who will be resurrected by righteousness, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sharon, thank you for sharing!

You know it truly amazed me how the people that always get smacked with the worst always seem to be able to pick up where they left off and start again. I have to tell you this I have learned of you Americans, you have that great strength and determination that makes you unique in every way. All those cities will thrive once more, and next time they will be ready when Nature hits for sure!

Again, Merry Christmas everyone. (I rushed that one sorry, but was so emotional after reading that article I couldn't let the season go by without giving them all a big hug.)

Merry Christmas, Sharon. Bless your heart, this carries the spirit of the season with it! This year is has surely been a tough one, and you know that old saying, "when times get tough...." I believe this is true for all humanity, not just us Americans, but I certainly am proud of the way normal citizens have pitched in and keep pitching in to help those less fortunate. We cannot forget. Love ya, lady! Merry Christmas!

I seem to live on the road these days... and continue to be awed by the resilience and kindness of the people who have the most right to moan and whine... SE Texas and SW Louisiana have no lack for firewood... but can fireplaces be used when the roofs are still blue plastic? *S*

Ruth, there is not one day that goes by this hurricane that hit is not in my mind, as well as the sunami. I feel so fortunate to having never seen war, or any real devastation really, and know if I do, I can get strength from all of you that have I am sure. Here's to you and the cats, may you have a wonderful and much better New Year down there.
