listen
just listen

just listen to the wind
feel the power of Earth's air
feel it as it musses up your hair
and whips the neighbor's trash onto your lawn
and then dies back down into
a whisper
a giggle
a reminder

nature rules the Earth

listen
just listen

when i listen
too hard
she slaps me
then she catches
me offguard
and kisses me softly
but then she's already gone
uncapturable,
we are at blessed
when we can still
feel her at all.
Happy holidays

I love the sound and the feel of wind! I love to see the effects of a blustering wind (not gale force winds, mind you!) ~ the tree tops swaying, waves rolling on the lake, and a Coco Cola can being blown down the street (which I watched last week as it went top over bottom all the way down our street ~ making the most eerie sounds!)

Thank you for this delightfully breezy write!

Kacy, feeling the soft brush of wind on my cheek
is like a soft caress and I love to hear it's
soft whisper in my ear. I love this poem, Sweetie.
It's beautiful. It made me almost see the wind.
Hugs,
Ethel

"nature rules the Earth"

I agree...

I look around me,and see a power that makes everything, and accept the futility found in trying to rise above it.

It is the "energy entity" that I have spoken of before in some of my poems...which are long and wordy..

Here I find explanation, in a four word line...

Well done and said, Kacy

Kacy I am still amazed at the fact that when we take the time to listen, we hear many things we would never have heard otherwise.

Very much enjoyed this Kacy, Happy happy holidays to you sweetie.

Yes donna, we hear lots of things in the wind.
lady Varner? OMG, its been a while. Thanks for the visit, and yes, it makes me laugh too, until I have to pick it up because they say it wasn't their trash. LOL

Midnitesun,
So often I forget the wind, its sounds, its feel!  It is too easy to remain inside with air conditioning and furnaces!  There are weeks that I find the only fresh breaths of air I've had were on the way to and from the car.  You remind me this is something I want to work on!  As always, I enjoy your writing.

i like the non-romantic images. with such a romantic title one does not expect them and that makes them more powerful.

Kacy...Thoughtful words.
A terrible rain storm with hail just blew through my area and your words are so true, nature does control the earth. Enjoyed...Paul

Kacy

I love to feel all kinds of weather, but especially the wind!  Thanks for showing me yours, for we haven't had any for quite some time.  Weather, I mean..     Merry Christmas!

I found myself liking the words until I watched my neighbour watching the blackbirds who lived in and around my garden plucking up the leaves for the food they eat and wondering why my neighbour left urban to find rural and complain that it is not urban.

Merry Christmas to all! thanks for reading and commenting. Happy to share the winds with you, Martie
Dave? understood, as leaves aren't trash to me either, but are nature's blankie/food for both flora and fauna. Now flying soda bottles and candy wrappers? yuck!!!
