the memories run faster oh to sleep away this storm tired so tired am I of the pretence, the surface calm and underneath not so but no, do not stop for without the churning thereād need be peace and in your absence that is an impossibility sleep will come though not soon enough this time there is no you coming back to smile at my doorstep and warm my heart and as the days grow in number the memories only deceitfully stay on with ever the threat of desertion would that I could bridle these thoughts and rein in my racing but the memories run faster and so I say run to the memories run to keep them from leaving catch the stragglers catch them all hold them closely wring the tears and tack them tightly to my heart |

and so I say run to the memories run to keep them from leaving catch the stragglers catch them all hold them closely wring the tears and tack them tightly to my heart So as not to lose a one. *S* I like this so much... wish I didn't understand it so well... love the way you described peace as an impossibility... As for sitting still on the paper... the agitation is felt... and appropriate for the poem's content. *S* |
