Love the poem! What do those beautiful Japanese words mean - "Saruwaka-machi" and "airachi"? - Owl |

I love Hiroshige's Ukiyo-e woodblock prints. Did you know Vincent van Gogh liked them too? Vincent even honored Hiroshige's style in one of his paintings, 'Bridge in the Water.' (of course, you must already know this) Your poetic style often reminds me of a woodcut ...it has an almost carved or 'stamped' effect. And I really enjoy the way you highlight the ART of poetic styles. "Evening view of Saruwaka Street" http://www.nga.gov.au/MonetJapan/Detail.cfm?WorkID=J24&ZoomID=3 |

Owl, Follow K's link; it's the print that inspired my thing. K, Yes, isn't it odd how something so simple in execution never the less . . . Thanks for reading. John |
