           Simple Things

     It’s the simple things,
     Like the way the morning light
     reflects on the silken strands
     of your long ebony hair.
     Or the way the moonlight
     shines on it’s soft waves
     filling my heart with longing.

     It’s the simple things
     Like looking into your big almond eyes
     and finding two pools of compassion and love
     ever drawing me deeper into their warm depths.
     Or the way they sparkle with pleasure
     as we lightly brush our lips together
     in a soft, playful kiss.

     It’s the simple things
     Like the way you slip your hand into mine
     and rest your head lightly on my shoulder
     as we walk along the moonlit beach.
     Or the way your hand softly caresses my cheek
     as we sit together on the swing
     gazing at the magic of the twinkling stars.

     It’s the simple things that I love most.
