Well by the reception I recieved from my last poem, I decided to go back to my roots (Pun Intended) Thus I leave you to enjoy THE ROSE. In a moment the thoughts are gone The truth that once laid deep inside Has wilted prematurely Someone has forgotten to feed and water my seed The words that once were so prevalent No longer seem to guide me to where I am meant to be A martyr by my own words Everything is escaping my comprehension Teetering on the brink of insanity The choice should be so simple However I find myself lost in a river Torn from once humble surroundings How am I suppose to know the right and wrong When they all seem to be covered in jewels and lies The world has cornered me I am lost yet I am found, where was the second that I had a grasp on things It was lost amongst the gravitational pull of the earth Is it all the same in the days that are all lost? I am but a single rose in a bramble patch Growing thorns to fit into my surroundings Now I realize that my life is ready to bloom I will no longer strangle the stem of my own body I can no longer stand still I must uproot my self All I know is that this is my life No one else can choose for me I have to figure out the oath I am meant to take It has been far too long since I have worked for my own goals It always seems to be someone else’s dreams The moments have passed me by for the last time My life, my dreams all come to fruition only with my words I am the alpha and the omega of my own fate I am not going to sleep till my words are dancing on the tongues of society Like my petals on a balmy fall day Freud may have diagnosed the mind Yet he could never have imagined the existence of a flower such as myself I see the world as a place of peace Yet the war of the roses still seems to continue on No longer will I strive to be what they wish I will shake the frost from my being During all seasons and times I will blossom eternally By these words I shall live Tomorrow comes for those who fear it. |

Good anaologies, poe....yes, I think we are all roses....or at least, potentially. Good luck with the transplant. |

quote: and even if you must live it as a thorn, as I've been told more than once I am? LOL, it IS your life, so bloom away, friend! Be you the blossom, the thorn, the root...the 'essence' of life remains what you make of it, and I have a feeling you make it a very fine fragrance. |

Thank you, iliana.Transplant is definetly a fitting term for what is happening with my life. We are all roses, I have to agree. Thank you very much aujussy wolf. MGROVES I am glad that you enjoyed the poem. Midnitesun everyone is a thorn at some point in time in their lives. I shall bloom to where ever my life takes me. That is very kind of you to say I hope others would agree with that statement. Tomorrow comes for those who fear it. |
