this story
http://www.10news.com/news/5504608/detail.html
Prompted me to pen the following.

It’s bad enough our Government
Doesn’t want the Images shown
But there is something worse
That for the most part is unknown.

After those Heroes get to Dover
From wherever they were Killed
Their treatment with Due Respect
Doesn’t seem to be fulfilled.

They might be sent with luggage
As freight on commercial planes
That’s no way to treat our Heroes
No way to handle their Remains.

One of our military aircraft
Should fly them to the nearest place
Flown with Dignity to Loved Ones
And turned over, face to face.

Each should have an Honor Guard
Or at the least accompanied
By an escort from our Nation
For whom they did this ultimate deed.

We spend ten thousand an hour
For the President to fly around
Why then for our Real Heroes
Can’t a few dollars be found.

Just another commentary
Though it’s bad and sad, but true
About how we treat our People
Who Fight and Die for me and you.

Our Government has it’s rules
To do most of what I’ve said
But as usual bends them to suit
To what it wants to do instead.

Just a heads up to the Families
And to let the rest of us know
They say they treat our Troops well
But that’s not always, really, so.

I believe U R mistaken, there's a special unit there just to give proper respects and honor, it's just that the press doesn't see or doesn't want 2 see.

Too soon are  young service personell forgotten by their respective governments, too readily are their deaths regarded as an embarrassment. Have you noticed though, when one of these young warriors goes above and beyond the call of duty and their acts of heroism save their comrades lives, their respective governments cannot wait to bathe in their limelight.

terrible, but hey, the gov learned a lesson with how the populace reacted to vietnam footage. the press has never since gotten such access (except for maybe when geraldo got shot at).

dennis, i was under the same impression, but i think there is only honor guard are arrival to us and then at burial. if these bodies are being shipped frieght - well that is terrible. as for the press - they do want to see, they SUED to see, but the access to the military is not governed by exactly the same laws as access to anything else.
