On the seismograph of love
the aftershock of life
registers a tremor, shake,
throughout immortal lands
and on this graph,
dot, dot, dot, dot,
the heart of all mankind
the core and epicenter
of this destructive mode.

Fine-tuned to overthrow
the sinking holes of soul
unadulterated energy
emerges from the shadows,
a force well equipped
to fill in the dips
and make from rough the smooth.

Though I know and though I feel,
though I see and can imagine,
time takes me to the final end
a woman scared of me,
an essential contributor
of cracks and consternation.

So this is me and this is you,
earthquakes for the free,
and all who wait for peace and grace
should know, feel, see, imagine,
the shaky ground of other lands …
but, excuse me, that’s for then
and one crack, two cracks, three, or more,
still brings me back as once before.

But from the rubble of the “don’t care”
I cannot know or feel or see
what emerges from the shadows …
but, excuse me, I imagine,
I can indeed imagine!

Sometimes that is all there is...to imagine~~

nicely expressed, Helen

It IS very hard to believe
that some just won't care...

but for those that do?

God blesses you.

~ Oh, I do believe you can imagine! For you are a poetess with an imagination extraordinaire!

the tremors of love
shake us all the world over
all engulfing love

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Thank you all for the read.  I sometimes wonder what's out there or, indeed, if anything at all.  Trouble is that when I do find out, I won't be able to tell anyone.

Oh, but I do believe you do see beyond right now.  Maybe the cracks bring you back, but it brings you back to a larger version of yourself.  Love this poem, Helen.  Be well.   .....jo

Oh, no, Jo!  Not larger - I'm battling the bulge as it is.     But I do, of course, know what you mean.  One wanders in the wilderness but there's always someone to lead one out.  Thank you!  May your festive season be bright and merry.
