In flood, emotions write their name upon my face
Telling tale in hues of unison, sins query and implore
As twilight, the unassuming masquerade of vision and quest
It’s dalliance to mold and shape the highlight of mood on my cheeks

You come, in drape of night to summon me
A meld of mind that melts the gentle white about my feet
So strong in your convictions, tempered steel
Yet I know you in another voice, another softer place of dreams

Your heart tells a different tale, in contrast to your serrated side
The coolness of your walk, sets a fire deep within the lost of me
Where I am drawn here with you, sitting nearer in this silent pause
Traveling beside you in the passing of some hidden despair

And yet, this heat that builds in flush across my baritone skies
Capacity that far and again swells to fit the overflow of feelings
A part of me, consoled and consoling, in the moments yet to come
In flood, escapes the fury and the passion of my truth, my only truth

Yet to lay within your hands the softness love has sighed
Uncertain, as the wild child in me keeps your stride
Impatient, yet discerning every movement far and wide
As I watch you time forgets us, that these colors coincide

"Yet I know you in another voice, another softer place of dreams"

Can I just tell you that line just blew me away....I've never really told anyone I wish I had thought of that line before, but this time I have to admit a little envy.  Beautiful poem, Kathleen....I also especially liked the last stanza.   ....jo

TD,

I love how you bring him alive through your contrast!  Very pretty...
