At the edge of a desert, Mist rose in places I could see in the dream-light, The outline of mountains. The plumes were apparitions, Standing guard to sway barbarians Keeping every evening holy, That proceeded holy days. Just beyond the screen of fog, Were semi-perfect beings-almost Gods That did not wonder-stumble there On lanes of midnight dreams like me; Residents of Shambhala, Whose travel mode was golden cars- Propelled by search and endless thought On arcs of élan vital light, Guided by empyrean charts. The ghosts of ancient teachers Vishnu-Shiva-Brahma-Jesus Made a start to clear my vision And to sweep away the cobbles From the path that I have traveled While ingesting human lies. But then the predawns Dark light-silence, Rude awakened Me From that queer reverie, Sadly All the answers Disappeared, including Query with solution-how to Bring an end to war, And all other social violence. Hi ice, A very well thought out poem. My thoughts after reading, If living full understanding brings us unwar than we all die at war! Even visiting Shambhala reading Chandi, understanding rude awakenings Makes me wish Peace! Thanks for sharing this. Enjoyed! pictureme2 |

I have been trying to read this for two days now--I don't know if it's the title or what, but everytime I open it my husband comes in here complainin' bout somethin'!! Hrmmph! Now, to your poem, I would really love to hear more of your views on pantheism again--I think we tend to agree on much and I have been feelin' a little lonely. I wish I could write as lovely as you. Hell, I wish I gave as lovely replies as you do--sighing. |

Karen-Serenity First I would like to explain this poem a little.. It is actually about a reoccurring dream I have had.. It starts at a place similar to the mythical Shambhala... I seem to absorb a huge amount of knowledge from this place, I assume that it comes from the permanent residents and teachers that have hidden themselves there, away from us barbarians.. The dream jumps then to another place, I suppose to be the physical world..I am on a podium speaking, there are many people listening, they all have a golden glow around their faces.. The 'answers' start to flow from me, all the cures for social violence--Hunger, Poverty, war, sexism, racism etc. are made to look foolish, I tell ways to end them... my argument cannot be challenged...I feel tremendously powerful, something that almost never happens in real life.. And then I wake up...... And forget all of the words that I was saying.. Thank you for your reply....I will e-mail you some Pantheist material and we can start a discussion...Gotta plow some snow now....later ----------ice/ford ><> |

Your dream shows how your heart and soul cries out for an answer to mankinds woes...if only the world would seek the answers and then listen to what must be done....*sigh*...will the day ever come when the world will truly know love and peace....Magnificent writing that makes one think and wish for the same thing....*big hugs* |

Your writing puts me in awe! Such vivid contrast of what is and what can be... What a dream! How does it go? "If it can be dreamed, it can be achieved" Something to the effect... miscellanea |

(big angel hugs) Oh Ford, I can understand this frustration ever soooooooo much, dearest friend, though a vast majority of my most recent dreams have been of my dream girl, I have some dreams too very similar to this, and from what I've learned in some psychology classes, many psychoanalyists throughout modern times believe that we dream also to consolidate our memories, buffer our stress and problem-solve, and so I guess every one of us continue to solve these mysteries in both conscious and unconscious states! (sigh) This is a most moving poem, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ford, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other" |
