How many days has the storm raged?... I know not,... for here there is no time. No time,...no sun,...no rainbows,... all is black and white and grey. Good and bad,...they have no balance here in this realm where once darkness could not long dwell. I have found... that in the shadow of the dragon's wings hope fades as the red of a rose... Laughter becomes a memory to hard to recall, the path to the sun becomes lost in the tangled vines of sorrow,... And here,...if not for you,... I would surely fall. But by a power I do not understand,... your words have entered my heart,... and raised my head. Though I still cannot see clearly the path,... I can hear you calling,...and if I should fall before I reach you,...know this,.... I did not fall in darkness,...because you have restored my hope! I dedicate this to all those we call friends. Although the world is full of suffering , it is also full of the over coming of it. Helen Keller [This message has been edited by StevenS (12-07-2005 07:29 AM).] |

And just knowing someone is out there to guide you and help you up should you falter or lose your way. A wonderful write Steve. Have an uplifting day. ~Hugs, Nancy~ ~Let peace begin with me... |

Love this line: "Laughter becomes a memory to hard to recall" Now that is a line that says so much! "too bad ignorance isn't painful" |

Steve, my friend. Please forgive me replying with a poem of mine. Take the laces from my mourning cloak time is open to all seasons for this grass yields to bare feet and the dew not yet frozen is a giver of this memory from ground and gone lit by time the tree has defended the sky beyond See the very hope of children in the den the ring of music hums within their bones the gallop moves me still and the climb of knowledge so many steps I’ve lost to the ill fit shoe and yet counting one and two I can’t erase the path nor find the gate Could there be a God within this place of sky the birds have come and gone and left me flight yet no where to go to find the invisible thread I yearn to sew but yes I tangle lines instead There is a pattern single and worthy feeling silken on the inside lining lost at thirty and the grace of giving stretch is comfort chosen as hand to hand together somehow love is spoken and the sound grinds this dirt and tears together finally making wings that open |

From the nadir to the acme! A vivid description of ascension out of the darkness and into the Light. To have friends, one must be a friend ~ and you, Dear Steve, are one, in deed! God bless you for this stirring write and the message inherent in it. You have weathered many a storm with the deserving help of your friends. Hugs with love, Linda |

Thank you, My Dear Enchantress. I have inherited your blessing for it has been an uplifting day indeed. Thank you Susan, I wondered if anyone would make past that line. :-) Thank you Martie, For your reply and I don't mind if you reply with one of your poems. I loved it! Thank you Earth Angel, I may have many but I sure do have some good ones. There are many here that I consider friends in a deeply spiritual way. :-) |
