The seas eluded his grasp as he tugged
and felt the small shell between his fingers.
Reminding of a moment years past when she
danced the evening air in his dreams,  when
life was young and nights were endless...
never ending...and he knew  this was one
for the fires to dance her walls  as his words
caught her breath...and his
arms....captured her soul.

To dance,
Beating here in the eternal grasp of time
Reminiscent of summers impatient wind chime
The low lay of lamp beckons on into night
Falls the breath of immortal by pale moon light

If only the vine might fill the chalice before
night’s end,  that two might sip of that which
each has carved of mere raw blocks of wetted
clay.  Entwining words upon the gray spire, ever
spinning...as one might the mind...before sleep
wrests from each . . . a prize.

To dance,
Drinking deeply the fine wine of pleasure
His vision remarked of a soft two step measure
In his arms she recalled most assuredly so
To be taken by inches at the turn of his tow

A gown of silk defied his eyes
as in slumber he romanced his prize.
A moon would recall flowing steps by two
in a language of love for a poet’s review.
