Stars In The Grass There were stars in the grass that night and the earth warmth of an Indian Summer still hovered to the depth of a dandelion stem beneath a sky sparkling with an early frost. I picked one of each, a promising star and a single bloom my fingers found for me, wished on both and said the words we both knew without any saying. You rose trembling and fled, unable to respond though your eyes said “yes” clear as moonlight. I lay there for a time I can’t measure now, content with a flower, one star, and a promise. This would be incredibly beautiful even if it was simply written from imagination.... that it is truth... and that the promise has been fulfilled so magnificently... just adds to the impact of your words. *S* Absolutely lovely!! |

Ed Romance without mush..Nature sure gives us plenty of comparative subject matter to work with- but only few can grasp its similes and put them to poetry this well.. Enjoyed ___________ice ><> |

I do believe that the loss of your techno piece (that you had mentioned in one of your replies to me), has not been as great a loss as it could have been! For thou dost write with an especially soft touch with thy new-found quill! Linda |
