Tell me my limits are exceeded, please, make it stop; too long I have needed something to end the visions in my soul, to calm the frantic flutter of broken wings; I have no crossing guard within my mind, the kind of short cycle reducer that makes more controllable the recoil of ideas in rapid fire; I have lived too long with the sour aftertaste of empty desire in my eyes; my heart is a garden overgrown with weeds and memories overstated residue of what once could have affirmed life, brought it highlights and overtones, infused meaning in the succulent bounty of life’s fruit when picked before it passes prime and turns woody, bitter, too much taste to be controlled by domesticity even if it’s simmered in the endless stew of memory; I am an herb grown toxic in the short sun land of long nights. ©2005 by icebox |

A funny thing about those toxic herbs; they somehow purify their surroundings, so are quite beneficial in the long run even though they may get tired of the job. I loved reading you again today, my toxic friend. |

words of wisdom keep a garden growing strong, a mind from going wrong, spirits in flight, souls with hearts, compassion and peace, right? My spirit will rise |

icebox - Your poems speak to me on a deeper level although always the surface words are so very eloquently put together. To steer one's own ship is to perhaps push the limits but that is you and what you need to do whether the purpose be known or not. You'll sail one day into a safe and peaceful harbour called "calm acceptance" but it's guarded well by life's many confusing things and thoughts - thoughts are things? May you have a wonderful festive season. Helen |

icey? Because your heart is a garden is why you have that aftertaste. This nails exactly how I have been feeling. You amaze me. Makes we wonder where your soul goes when you write. |

"too long I have needed something to end the visions in my soul, to calm the frantic flutter of broken wings" You know we knew each other in another life, right? I looked to you for words of wisdom in that life as well. "too bad ignorance isn't painful" |
