standing on a shadow's lace

Thanks Giving

today the geese sing
against the wind
each V wing
pulling strings of violins
attached to the sun
peeling back the sky
customizing an orange and purple day
crisp lies softly on the air
and there has never been
a more beautiful November morning
I race to spaces quickly
places too small
for anything but crawl
as not to miss one moment
time
          falls
                     slowly
to become the motive
of something more
than what it was

just some words cut out
from the diary of my heart

Wonderful Helen!
Happy Thanksgiving my friend.
hugs, Chris

Wind bends the pines
Outside warm rooms
Beyond a closed door window

Good food I can afford
The statue of a young girl
On the dinner table

Books on wars
I did not have to go to
Poems by others
Which speak with mine

This breathing in
And out  The air
Glad to find
I’m still alive
