They wait for the moon to come, and pour between their abandonned spaces, where once sodded leaves, litter like vagabonds, to their bolted shadows beneath them,
they wait for the moon to come, and crown them in platinum, their limbs climbing skies, so dark and detached, now, to excuses for their mistreatment,
they wait for the moon to come,
on nights like these, when semi-charmed lovers, thrown together strangers, have only this respite, for the woes that have led to these secret embraces.

The word that real caught me was platinum, and your use of it -- made the scene really come alive. This one is magic, Michele! Happy Thanksgiving........jo

Is your exquisite poem about those beeeeyooootiful cats in your photograph? It seemed to me that it was. Please stroke them all for me and tell them that Owl loves them. I am batty about every animal that walked, crawled, slid along this planet, flew through it's air, or swam its waters.
