Oh pitiless Time, your hands never cease
Their endless toil; you never do reveal
The key to your immutable clock’s lease —
And I in your shadow breathlessly reel
And stumble; you are never late, nor pause
To sing a Sun a lullaby; I know
A kiss so soft upon the lips should cause
Your hands a merciful surcease of flow;
Time, you have thieved enough the fiery bliss
Of Woman’s love, her passionate embrace —
To but shackle your hands and bind Her kiss
In eternal gift of beauty and grace —
With last exhale I will your trot eclipse,
And seal Her gift of love within my lips.

What a great gift! and sealed with a kiss, who could want more for Christmas?

Ah, but that kind of kiss would be worth waiting for...even if it was hidden underneath a veil of mystique.
