Melancholy Ache

Drops of melancholy
silently fall from
emerald eyes
crystallized
  in tears from blue
sullen and forlorn
as mask holds
  the unveiling of truth.

Melancholy is
  a heart ache
   of love misplaced
harbored in yesterday;
vanished without
   nary a trace
held in    longing for
what once    had been
to someday return
so that her heart     might feel again.

reposted, for all of those who have
a heart aching....

(my thanks to Kari for framing
the photo and allowing me some
storage space.  Hugs)

The greatest beauty on earth, is
found in the hearts of those
who love....

"She never let it show
from the outside looking in
nobody could have known
she didnt cry
she didnt shout
I was blind but I see now
she was breaking from the inside out."

{sung by Tracy Lawrence}

GentlestOne~
This touched me on this day, as I now own a 'melancholy ache' from a phone call I received last evening~

A dear, dear friend of many years is now locked in the halls of Alzheimer's ... so heartwrenching to hear her husband tell me of the saddness of their lives at this point in time~

It is in times like this that I tearfully question the 'why' of everything~

I know your penning reflected a somewhat different thought .. but it was such a timely repost for my own 'melancholy ache' on this day~

*sigh*
