I know the poem is a little long and I feel that it kind of falls off at the end, but bare with me due to my severe case of writers block. I have decided to do a little bit of an experiment. Please I would love to know your thoughts on it. Time has distilled my heart in the vast abyss In a portrait my sullen figure is captured Manifested into something for the eclectic Each taking a tiny piece of my soul Tranquillizers line my thoughts Inept are my thoughts Masquerading as wisdom Ever present is the unwavering sincerity Torrential catastrophes dangling me by my ankles In escapable is the pendulum of life Memories of tranquil surroundings have all become faded Eviscerated are my hopes The fever is creeping deeper In angst over the trembling future My eyes are wide yet my mind is shut Eternity has fallen upon me The second hand is stuck on fast forward I have fallen into a timeless despair My soul is being squeezed till its last breath Exhausted is the purity in my essence Tomorrow has been vaporized from my recollection Integrities bitterness will not leave my lips Madness settles at the bottom of my half empty glass Ether like realities have placated my existence Tonight I watched my soul die I now lay here motionless Measuring my life against the hour glass Eternally bleeding as the world moves on Kinetics is the only way to understand my dementia East bound on a train to nowhere Every second passes in due course Passing by the window on this soulless journey Situated in a darkening room The keyhole cannot be found in the gasping bleakness Illness begins to set in my churning stomach Calmness begins to coat my being Keeping my mind from finally stepping over the edge I see now that time never stops Never the less we live eternally as long as it is in the moment Gathered amongst a chosen few Behold the truth in all its glory Your alive and you will never know anything else Tomorrow comes for those who fear it. Today never ends for those who live it. |

You know, this is deeply felt by me.. If you meant it to be that way, it worked. The fact that this is writer's block baffles me..it's wonderful.. and the ending is really powerful. |

I enjoyed this, especially because I often feel that I am surrounded by bleakness. The only thing that I found, which I didn't see fit was the way you snapped out of such darkness so quickly. I wish there were more of a transition, the feelings are meshed at the end. Almost like you thought is was going to be too long, which it could never be. Overall I enjoyed it, and it inspired me. |

Yes Kaoru, this poem was meant to find a place deep inside. It took me nearly twenty minutes to write this poem. I am used to being able to have the words pour from my pen in minutes. In my books that is writers block. I also do not see it at as one of my better works. I am glad that you liked the ending. Sunshine where will you be coming back from? Midnitesun I see that I have hit a note with you. I will take it that you liked the poem. Enchantress are you speechless. I will take that as a compliment and thank you. ChemicalRepose it is a state where we all seem to find ourselves at least once on this strange path that is life. This is a bi-polar society snapping in and out of things is very common. To tell you the truth I used to write some very depressed things. Only one can be found on these boards and that is Close My Eyes. All of the rest were rejected for being a little too dark. All of my life could be summed up with inner turmoil and then one day poof my whole world was turned around, so though it seems strange in the wording this is how the actual events transpired one second the black void, the next an eternal sunshine. I am glad that you enjoyed the poem. As well thank you for the critique it is much appreciated. Tomorrow comes for those who fear it. Today never ends for those who live it. |

"Tonight I watched my soul die I now lay here motionless Measuring my life against the hour glass Eternally bleeding as the world moves on" My favorite stanza....yet I was moved by all of it... Well done! "too bad ignorance isn't painful" |

Thank You, Susan. That is one of my favorite stanzas as well. Tomorrow comes for those who fear it. |
