Love You More With Less The letters blossomed as flowers under warmth, Love awakening under the shelter of the night, Sweet as honey, to every breath life breathes--- Intoxicating to the point of passion’s suffocation, Love overwhelming the heart of this hesitant man…. It was easy to hide behind the words of my poems As time passed so intimately, so slowly And my mind searched for so much more to say Because every word became so much more When our lips tested love, As our hearts faithfully, drifted apart… Did I become afraid to limit, The unlimited expressions of my soul, Wary of the pitfalls of a broken heart? It only seemed to get more difficult, To write about the love I have for you, Because it was hard not to try to out-do the day before And our lives that lived before, When the naked shelter of truth and patience Vowed through the uncertainty of final tears That this day replaces all sadness And smiles replace those dreams With a voice of words on paper that you can feel… No poem or thought can impact two lives more Or say more with less Than the silent clapping of two hearts, Applauding to a love that is meant to last forever.
