This was actually written in response to a comment that Martie's had made a while back. As I recall, she said something like: “I don’t know how you and Rosemary do it. . . .” The question is not “How” but “Why” we do it. Hopefully this will answer in a small way the "why" we love this life so much. The farm is almost self sufficient, but as everyone knows there are times when you have to go to town and get these little things called necessities. Toilet tissue doesn't grow on trees ha! ha! But really, you wouldn't believe what it takes to get us motivated to to town. We just plain folk and the city is just to......I guess that should cover it. just another journey imagine the nighttime roof lines ravished with icicle trinkets or a snowy fir every inch a twinkle ensconced with nuanced flakes cedars ribboned and woven into a velveteen tapestry and just over yonder streaming down ravines hem a fringed chenille along wrinkled brook of twinkling sequins wave in rivulets of ruffled beavers whimsy imagine uncovering moods all quilted with treasures by the just wandering down of an old forgotten skid the experience of being greeted by a moose on a daily stroll in early dawn where you’re sure to hear a daunted fawn who’s serene now dazed upon is not exactly in the frame for colloquy her stay you see was for graze but now is tainted by the solitary sashay of the unthinkable scrunch which of course has disturbed serenity’s mood unbelievably though ‘tis stolen just as quickly by vigilant squirrels eye who has trumpeted your advent to all her friends who are now scampering to capture at least a kernel from your pocket full of cat food so graciously brought for them then of course onward to retrieve the world’s worst junk from where it was dropped yep that’s your mailbox Speaking of ghosts, wouldn't you know here comes mine again... |

Dale...the photos...oh the photos!! So precious to see and hear how it is...I do myself run into a peacock or two and squirrels have finally found there way home to our telephone wires...and even a bear was at our trash the other night, but no moose as yet...I await the delight...but then I'm in the wrong place for such, or am I? |
