aching rivers the blood of affliction falls on Terra's open pores aching rivers creep far below the surface along fault lines until they find her heart where they hang around to form icicle shaped deposits dripping dripping ever dripping spouts of pain from stalactites into colored pools of oiled regret forming stone pillers while it’s too late for her ever returning her eyelids half closed with succumb jaded from the lack of comprehension being tossed from tranquility and parked on gutters edge where exposed and powerless she dozes as mine own heart wept cold dark rivers aching Written for my friend this morning when his wife popped over to his house with another man. I knew something wasn’t quite right when he called as he wanted to buy a beer. He had his little girl with him, you could see lines where fresh tears had run on both their faces. She was hard trying to be heroine holding back the other tears. She must be at least nine or ten now. Few words were spoken, what comfort could be shared or said, and an “I’m Sorry” just doesn’t seem to cut it. Her name is Terra. Perhaps a small prayer for her and her younger sister. 2005/11/16Wed. 3:42 Am. Speaking of ghosts, wouldn't you know here comes mine again... ~Rosemary J. A beautiful poem from a beautiful soul! Heartfelt prayers for Terra and her sister and father and for you in your pain about the situation as well. I love the stalactite-shaped form - so sensitively fashioned, just before the tip of it drips. - Owl Just quietly want to mention a spelling error - "pillers" should be "pillars". |
