Sitting alone, with nothing to write, But carbonated words of fluff and trite — Oh smite me, burn me, inspiration rare! Where doth thou keep thy alien ware? Under the bed? Within thine chest? Quick here, you tell me, which is the best? Am I to fall a victim to crime? Am I to borrow, to beg for a dime? What is the price that commands fair thought? Is this the only fate upon me wrought? But I think I know your deviant way — For within my thoughts you frolic and play... Hiding in shadows of most common words, That flutter and hover like nettlesome birds I catch a glimpse of you, mischievous sprite, C’mon now, show yourself, come take a bite! See the white parchment and the fine quill? Come down to rest now, and yield to my will! But fortune smiles not at me and my quill — That sprite, too, bids its own manner and will. CG, I think your write sprite was sitting on your shoulder all the time! ...and if these are "carbonated words of fluff and trite..." ~ then I like ""carbonated words of fluff and trite..."  I loved what you were able to write out of "nothing"!   EA |

Linda - oh, shucks, nothing to it..  Written 'tongue-in-cheek'...the 'sprite' made me do it...LOL! Barry - glad you got a chuckle out of this, for it was intended to do so (hopefully) Thank you both for commenting. CG |
