Of Rings and Things Revisted

Returned to the enchanted wood, times' passage plain to see.
The course my life had taken thus, denied such reverie.
Had scarcely given any thought to things as this it seemed,
encounters with the faerie king, most surely, I had dreamed.

The air was fresh from morning rain, and damped the woodland sounds.
The run-off formed reflecting pools to which my thoughts were bound.
As,it was here, those years ago, I'd met with royalty.
My life forever changed that day, by what I'd chanced to see.

With this in mind I had come back and risked what I'd avowed.
"To act as though there's no such thing" I spoke these words aloud.
Within the circle faeries leave, not knowing their effect,
I only know I felt compellexd to pay my due respects.

The years had not been that unkind, as were before that day.
Though most would think I'd lost my mind, had ever I did say,
that it had been more than a dream, some fancy born of sleep,
yet, in exchange for silence I was granted this to keep...

The magic of discovery through an ever wondering eye.
Appreciation of all things beneath the open sky.
Ability, however slight, to tell of what I'd seen,
so long as I did keep my word, by this, know what I mean...

within the circle faeries leave of mushrooms on the ground,
the magic of your childhood dreams is aptly to be found.
