Six Years Ago Today

You were the he I loved all of my life
helping me carry my burdens and my strife.
I can still hear you, the stories you'd tell,
oh how I recall the day that you fell.

I remember how you kept me warm
and how I was always safe from harm.
Now your light shines down on me
as you soar, your spirit is free.

I can't help but brush aside a tear or two
I remember the little things you would always do.
I can hear you say "You should have listened to me."
You were right, but I didn't always want to see.

I only wish you could see me now
Lord knows I wish there were someway, somehow.
I can only pray that you would be proud
as you watched from there upon your cloud.

It was six years ago, just this day
but I'm not sad, for you've found your way,
so I promise you now Dad, we have a date
I'll see you again.....
at heavens gate.

Holding you closely in my heart
now and always Dad, I love you...

live for today,
dream of the future,
and learn eternal truths from the past..

Ladies, thanks so much.  Every year, I can not help but remember him for the wonderful man and father/mother that he was to us three girls.

Hugs, and thanks.

Donna, it is because of your father's kind and loving ways, that you became the gentle spirit that you are.

A beautifully scribed poem of devotion that will echo into eternity.

Love & Eternal Light,
Linda

Nodding in understanding..
and missing my Dad as well.
Heart hugs sweet lady~

Now - while the leaves still dance on the wind
While the moon and the clouds come spinning
Will you whisper my name again?
Again...and again...

And you will...it will happen. It even happened for an athiest friend of mine, who was given the chance to come back for a while....he's, um, not an athiest anymore!
