the way to the heart is a meandering pathway sometimes through mush sometimes through sloppy slush sometimes only rocky roads lead the way and today? is anybody's guess yes, it's one of those days when even the stoutest steadiest of hearts cannot decipher the hieroglyphics of life the pathways are covered with fallen leaves, gravel, dirt and mud with a sprinkling of hope alongside the refuse of yesterday the way to the heart is a meandering pathway covered with the refuse of day-to-day life |

Well whose heart are you headed to with mush? ![]() ![]() If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |

something so simple becomes all convulted.......think its one of those days too when the state of the world just throws the simple offkilter ![]() |

Sorry....I can't quit laughing from Karen's comment. Seriously, though, well said, Kacy! ![]() |

Kacy This poem reminds me of early spring, when the old rotted snow is still along roadsides-the ground still frozen.. But if you look close you will see the old drifts, as they recede, are rimmed with a pale yellow flower...the colts foot is blooming among the beer cans and roadkills with "... a sprinkling of hope alongside the refuse of yesterday" There are many more visuals in this beautiful poem than are on the surface, I suppose this is true of all good poetry..... ![]() enjoyed ------------ice ><> |

Kacy, this was beautifully done, brought me back to the days when I was a kid, then, winters were magical, and the slush was great to walk through, the dirtier the better. Enjoyed you this morning. Thank you |
