The silence breaks unto the sky A thunderclap of realization The turmoil of the youth Has fallen below The Beckoning of a lone wolf Is now your only voice? The ivory keys of forever are being played so eloquently The notes form into a melody that is life Chartreuse photos of forgiveness are in pieces The torrential down pour has begun Inside you own turmoil manifests from that monster in the closet All the underlining sentences come together The paths are becoming like the cobra, forever winding Yet a path must be chosen The night plays with the starry-eyed No longer colouring outside the lines No longer skipping class Lines forming on your cheeks In the pitiful slumber the lamb does lay Hidden away in the back of your mind Cultivating a soul of epic proportions The lacklustre performance haunts the daylight Dreaming of the moment your head hits the pillow Unable to speak the truth Yet knowing it must come to fruition Only finding that bed of nails No longer able to watch those cartoons No longer able to laugh aimlessly Comprehending the speech of immortality Becoming deaf in the process Everything seems to be fading Is wisdom really worth this price? In the aftermath of tomorrow The day does come to bloom Leaving only the silence Eternity is knocking at the door Do you answer the call of death? Or hold tightly to ignorance Wishing to be young again In your blissful state of nothingness Tomorrow comes for those who fear it. |

Thank you, SEA. I am glad that you enjoyed the poem. Thank you, Martie. It is a place that we are all far too familiar with. Thank you, aujussy wolf. I am happy that you like it. Thank you, Marge Tindal. Thank you, Enchantress. My publisher is looking to get them into Indigo and Coles. There will not be that many copies, but at least it is a start. Tomorrow comes for those who fear it. |
