Dapple Grey and Red Rust Dapple grey left hand side Cornering on my hide Like's to take the corners sharp Keep old Nic's teeth apart Always a snapper right hand side Slavers so much It must be pride Never bites cos no-ones near Brakes on left hand side We veer to our bruised hides Pick up those who were above Alas like fingers seeking a glove Inn is there low narrow arch Coachman has cleared and parched Trunks upon the road are still Coachboy blue is looking ill Paid a bonus for inside Bullies to beat sense into a hide Now the bullie boys work again The horses and always the men Coachboy looking green these days He knows life and will not stray The company has him deep entrall And so he keeps his neck so small Newgate is a popular place And you can visit without a trace But cross a politican on the line And you will be hanging just from twine Red and Rust on one side Red the dust on her outer side Leather swinging head singing Checking Dapple on the drive Dapple always liked her teeth Red used his head Usually on Dapple's teeth When she lost the thread Dapple like's a clear run Red trusts the word Dapple will keep you clear And Red as if never heard And never moved Sorts you from the dear And keeps you from the near So all think she is heard We know Dapply Grey And the Red the Rusty may Dapply likes an arch to rub Red like may be to be washed down Coachman likes his horses Trunks are still there Coachboy looking blue Is all, as it should and fair Paid their bonus for inside And pulling all between They get a gentle But the coachboy is often seen Maybe our punishments are wrong And sinners can repent But life makes partners think And Dapple and Red at times relent |
