Climbing I’ve climbed the top of mental mountains But have not found those psychic fountains I’ve dug and planted seeds of need And cared for them from weeds impede I’ve burned my candles end to end And fixed my souls for each transcend Yet still I flounder in the stew The changing of the old to new I’ve wrestled with the paradox The sun has turned my skin to lox I cannot find surcease of peace I find no small print in the lease So now I tumble with the weeds Reading reads like slipping beads And round and round the pages turn Until my dust will fill an urn I would you write upon this clay He lit a light but could not stay |
