Between the Lines

Layered

I can feel my body hum
in the stillness of regret.
I've grieved for others more than once.
(My spirit aways let.)
In forward motion thoughts I bathe,
cabined within dreams.

But where am I? Alone today...
sewing up my seems.

Forgetting how to play, like once
before when heart was warmed.
Stinging hurts that welt in rise,
those be's of cause that swarmed,
to itch my craves on empty days.
No turning back, this tale.

I can feel my body hum
in the stillness of this jail.

Concealed are wishes, deep within
not answered nor deserved.
Life, this game of lonely haunt
that throws its future curved.
And I, not good at catching it
for aching leaves me tiered...

In thoughts of all my yesterdays
when tomorrow wasn't feared.

M, a layered and talented poetess ye be!

I never leave a poem of yours without something tucked into the recesses of my mind!

Today, it is this line "sewing up my seems."
Loved the play on words! "Seems" ~ perfect!

Thank you Linda...I will probably do a bit of "sewing" for a friend this evening, so it is on my mind...among other things
