GONE WITH THE WIND? |

I came in with the dust, I’ll be gone with the wind No matter which way it may blow me With words inspired or spoken by some others Trying to turn them to, what people see. Like rivers that rush the shores of the oceans Where the rocks are ground slowly into sand Trying to leave my mark on minds and hearts Like a small piece of this ever-changing land. With all of the rains that fill those rivers And all those snows melting way up high I’d just like to be a part of what you might see In the cloud’s stories painted there up in the sky. In those dreams dreamed in quiet of the night Or in the clamored din of the bright day I only long to speak of the thoughts here inside That can only mean those things I want to say. Now it’s blowing down through those clouds Picking up those grains of polished sand To spread them o’er those hearts and minds While still, I am wondering, if any understand. I came in with the dust, I’ll be gone with the wind No matter which way it may blow me With words inspired or spoken by some others Trying to turn them to, what people see. (But, guess I’ll go on writing until the wind Is gone) Del "Abe" Jones |
