My hair is pretty bouncing tilt and I am witty lips of milk silken soft with a tough tongue and my little bitty bits are rough and I can't get enough like buzzers at the door, secure as the doorman smiles at us asking if I have the stuff and you're the man who loves me more as I eager bite the pure sucking bloodbite from your vein. (And what is it I have to gain?) Oh I smell like African musk in armpits lusciously as teeny tony beads of sweat complete my brows complacently and my teeth are white that set like suns upon the rippled jet waves in rolling jelly dwell aghast and foaming on the shelves gifts of hell that thatch the swell of tiny ells that beat the wrath of waves that laugh the joyce of elves crushing inward on themselves as ripples stoking artistry And what is it I have but me? leaving shells upon the shore... washed away like little feet and dot-dot-dots of gulls are more than waves that laugh forever or rejoicing delves of whistle-wings at my pretty seaward hair - Here. I leave a bit much more for you. |

serenity, Your writing always causes my imagination to slip between its lines! I'd be curious to know what inspired this poem. So deep you are, Lady! miscellanea |

For those of you who have been trying to find out what I meant by the "joyce" of elves, (winks to Kari) I must confess it was simply a play on words inspired by one of my favorite poems which can be found in its entirety here: http://www.robotwisdom.com/jaj/chamber.html (and sighing...would that I could write like that...) Reading that one, inspired me to write this one, which was written for two of my favorite people--the yin of Dark Angel and the yang of Brian Sites. I hope that clarifies things a bit. They see me much more lovelier than I am, so I had a bit of a reverie 'bout that. to both and hugs to all who have read. thank you |

AHA! and thank you. I felt there had to be a capital to J[oy] and it was driving me beyond derision to know how joist might apply.... For you see... My mother's most favorite friend was my not-of-blood Joyce.... and my children are middle named Joyce, and Joy, for her. I needed this.... in so many, many ways.... thank you! |

"And what is it I have but me? leaving shells upon the shore... washed away like little feet and dot-dot-dots of gulls are more than waves that laugh forever or rejoicing delves of whistle-wings at my pretty seaward hair - Here. I leave a bit much more for you." Yes, you did! I hope I am getting this one correctly....your comparison with the ocean, its surges, its roar....it's waves erasing the dot..dot..dots....but your words, yes, much more than the dot...dot...dots of sea gulls, a tremendous sharing of your spirit and soul. Or, then there is the other interpretation I had which is strictly personifying the ocean....lauzy, lauzy....you have me a little curious....either way, I am impressed. Each line needs its own interpretation, perhaps. I could think of the leaving more with one interpretation as your own offspring, or I could interpret it to mean, your words, or I could read it to mean the destruction and resulting effects of a hurricane like Katrina, or last year's sunami. Like I said, this is a work of art....and one worth sitting down and reading many times. Please let me know if I am on track, Karen. (PS....I'll try to call soon....but really, tell me now, tell me now....paleeese). .....jo Got to thinking about that ocean's droppings.....and if I interpret this to mean the bird's dot dot dots are sh__, then, I guess that last line (if I interpret it that the ocean is the speaker) would mean what the waters left behind is so much more sh__ than the beautiful merriment she is? Right? Hey...but, I'm still a bit confused by the title....although, I did catch the word play. OK,OK....I went back and read the comments. I suspected James Joyce had some place in all this....and hey, to me....you are in the same class, no joke. Now, I think that the poem is yourself....what you leave....your children. And you are the joyce of elves. LOVE IT!!! I like this interpretation much better....LOL.....luvsyamuchly......jojo |
