Shops
On Main Street
Still are closed
Though it’s Saturday
Approaching noon

Toward the end
Until things happen
They happen very slow

By small degrees
Like changing leaves
Until they finally fall

Or a cardboard sign
In the local tavern window
That simply says
For Sale
