This Is My Room This is my room, the sacred place Where I meet my sorrow face to face These is my room, the walls of fright Where I meet myself in the dark of night This is the silent sound of a tear That bathes my heart and reveals my fear This is the loneliness I must consume On the blackest night, in the darkest room These are the sheets that brush my skin With the feel of love and the pain within This is the garden where bittersweet bloom This is my heart, my sacred room Elizabeth Santos |

Oh Liz.....this makes me want to buy a ticket to Pennsylvania so that I can give you another in person hug! I hope you are ok...this poem sounds so sad and lonely....but I know the feeling...I have a room that is decorated just the same. I love you!! |

We each need a room, whether it be without, or within us, to find a place to be silent, or shed a tear, or smile at memories, maybe even make new moments... but most certainly, to trace our thoughts upon a heart. This, you've done.... |

Taking great care is this intensity of feeling, impacting what we find in the heart as emotion, and you, dear lady are the heroine…zoned in on intense understanding…there will be fascinating recognition of your own spiritual room, a place of remarkable truth and a willful power of love…which inscribes your heart, mind and words to us…creating Some very beautiful words, in the poetry of Liz Santos....this, was incredible! I know Liz, I've a room like that too, but I want you to know that my spirit will always be with you lady Poet Queen, from the moment I've met you (and even before by reading your beautiful words), I've closed you into my heart. I'll never forget those warm welcome hugs you gave me three years ago. Like the famous words our Queen Wilhelmina's once spoken: "Lonely, but never alone". Your words are reaching so many hearts. Titia Like scattered leaves...my words will flow |

Hi Elizabeth. Thank you for the fleeting glimpse into your world. I am curious about your name. Are you of Latin ancestery? I wondered how someone named Santos might be living in PA ... |

To answer the question about my name. My huscand was Brazilian. We at one time lived in Brazil, but later settled in my home town in Pa. He passed away 5 years ago. All of my 4 children look very Brazilian, so the name suiys them much better than it does me. Thank you for asking |

What else can I say but that it flows with feeling.. and yes, sometimes one must find a room of their very own.. some place safe.. within the hollow hills. Pepper |

Very well written! We all have a room like this; few have the skill and courage to describe it. Brava! |
