Some can spit on a sidewalk, unaware they make anyone cringe. Some will fly in the shadow of a hawk, seeking to remain on the fringe. My spirit glides the warm airs above; shallow sidewalks are not for me. Above the bustle and crush below, I distance myself from humanity. Walking along the seashore, I kick the sand out in front of me, wondering where time has gone, how it slipped away so quietly. The surf slides over my wandering feet then recoils, as if trying to flee from me. Shorebirds screech a harsh farewell, cursing my soul straight to Hell.
