You know today I could have died I could have laughed or could have cried I could have in one moment lied But know that through it all I tried I ponder life and every way But hide the words I want to say I cannot bring myself to be The inner truth that lies in me You know today I put away Another thing I want to say But find the place where I do store Is almost where it holds no more I weigh the things in me that count But find I have the wrong amount So compensation comes with hope And somehow with the dreams I cope I see the news of people dead Then rampant thoughts run through my head And kick myself that I am weak To never be the one to speak Again more lives have passed away People now that have no say I hope they find their peace somehow As we all try to live the now Life is one long road to end Tomorrow meets another bend May the road I walk today Lead me to a better way |

I ponder life and every way But hide the words I want to say I cannot bring myself to be The inner truth that lies in me You know today I put away Another thing I want to say But find the place where I do store Is almost where it holds no more Rick this is a wonderful, true write that alot of us can nod in agreement with. More times than I wish to admit have I held back things that I wish I had said. Well done. hugs, Chris Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance. |
